I hate Coors Field

I hate/love playing in Denver. The game can either go really really shitty, or really really good! The Rockies scored 2 runs right out of the chute in the first, 1 in the 2nd, and 2 in the 4th off of Haren. Dan Haren was limited to only 5 IP while giving up 5 ER. Haren had one upside, rather two upsides. He showed off his offensive skills by going 2-2 with the bat Tuesday night. In case you are unaware, Dan Haren was a phenomenal shortstop and hitter in his time at Pepperdine.

Justin Turner continued his clutch hitting in the 6th inning Tuesday night with a double into left center field scoring Scott Van Slyke and Matt Kemp. The Dodgers remained to trail 5-2 after the 6th after the Dodgers left the bases loaded with 2 outs.

The Rockies added on two more runs in the 7th inning making it 7-2. Colorado then continued their hitting ways by adding 3 more in the bottom half of the 8th inning to make it 10-2.

With the Dodgers down 8 runs, Dee led off the 9th with an infield single and Puig comes up to the plate and promptly hits a two-run HR to make it 10-4 and that was about it. The Dodgers lose it 10-4 in game 2 of the 3 game series. The series is now knotted up with the concluding game tomorrow afternoon.

Tonight it seemed as if the Dodgers consistently had the leadoff man on base and were just unable to do anything with it. Last night was the exact opposite, at least the 8-run 6th inning was where they put hit just about everything in sight and wouldn’t leave any player on base.

Let’s just say last night was almost the exact opposite as last night. Like I said, when you play at Coors Field, the game can either go really really shitty or really really good. Tonight was the shitty game.

Dodgers Player of The Game: Justin Turner

No real surprise here for fans as we have seen Turner swing a hot bat since the All-Star Break. Turner has been one of the go to guys in the lineup, whether he’d be in the lineup or a part of a PH situation. Turner went 3-4 Tuesday night with 2 RBI’s which raises his average to .335 on the season.

The series finale is tomorrow afternoon at 12:10 PT. Carlos Frias will take the mound facing De La Rosa and the Rockies. After the game the Dodgers will head out to the Midwest to start a 4 game series with the Cubs starting Thursday night and concluding on Sunday afternoon.

Goodnight and go Dodgers!!!
